This was the third part in our series on the shortest books of the Bible, called Small But Significant. All throughout this series we read an entire book in worship, an unusual treat due to their unique brevity.

We explored the letter called 2nd John this week, the second of three letters attributed to John, who wrote the gospel by the same name. At the heart of 2 John is a conflict over the identity of Jesus, one that is so severe the integrity of the church is at stake. We discussed the nature of this conflict and why it was so potentially damaging on the 1st century church – and the 21st century church.

Full hope in Jesus requires the flesh of Jesus.

  • Drew referenced a classic Johnny Cash song in the opening of this sermon. You can listen to “Flesh and Blood” here.
